Master’s Degree: You need a 1-year/2-semester Master’s after a 4-year Bachelor’s. Or a 2-year Master’s after a 3-year Bachelor’s. You must have at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent.
Relaxation: A 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled/EWS candidates. This is as per government guidelines.
M.Phil Graduates: If you have an M.Phil with a 55% minimum aggregate, you’re eligible. Foreign degrees are recognized if they’re accredited by a recognized authority.
Exemptions from the entrance test apply to:
1. Applicants with qualifications such as UGC-NET/JRF, SLET, GATE, ICAR-JRF, KSCSTE, DST fellowships, and other approved research fellowships
2. M.Phil and teaching fellowship holders (M.Phil. in a different subject requires taking the entrance test).
3. DBT/JRF holders (eligible for Biotechnology Ph.D. registration).
4. DST-INSPIRE fellowship holders.
5. Scientists with seven years of experience and two research publications in UGC-approved journals.
6. Teachers with at least seven years’ experience in government/aided colleges affiliated with the UniversityUniversity.
1. Duration: 3 hours, with a maximum of 100 marks.
2. Structure: Two sections—Research Methodology (50%) and Chosen Subject (50%).
3. Requirements: Postgraduate-level knowledge and research aptitude.
4. Passing Marks: 50% in both sections, with a 10% relaxation for SC/ST and a 5% relaxation for OBC/differently-abled/EWS candidates.
